All those posts that are like “your life doesn’t really start til your 30s-40s-50s” are wonderful and important but they make me sad so. Positivity post for anyone who’s not going to get there.
People who have been told they won’t make it til their 20s, 30s, 40s, whenever. Another month, another year, another five years, another ten or twenty. People who have known since they were little, people who just found out. People who are getting worse faster or slower. People who are in treatments that might help, but cause so much other damage. People who treatment didn’t work for people who can’t afford treatment. People who are medically fragile and people who are housebound and people who are bedbound. People who are losing their independence and people who have never had it. People who never know which infection, which flare-up, which episode is going to be the last one. People who are in hospice, people who have planned their funerals and written their wills and got their DNR in order. People who have tried everything they can and people who are making themselves worse and people who are being neglected by doctors and caregivers. People with genetic diseases that have taken family members already. Cheers 🧃🧃

My nightmares will try rationalizing my pain. Extreme back pain and difficulty breathing? Dream I’m in a burning building and the roof collapsed onto my back. Extreme skin pain? Dream I’m being skinned alive. Always dreaming about my pain.

got called into the living room because “they’re talking about something you’ll like on tv” and it was a documentary about arsenic poisoning
feels worth mentioning that my response to this was to yell “POISONS??? :D :D :D” and sprint into the room like a dog that’s just been told it’s time for a walk
when i was a kid i used to respond to the “glass half full/half empty” question by asking how the liquid in the glass got there in the first place. nobody ever gave me a chance to explain my reasoning so i’m doing it now
if you have a glass and it has some liquid in it, up to the halfway line, whether it is empty or full depends on what happened before the question was asked. if you started with a full glass and poured half out until only half remained, the glass is half empty, because if you continued pouring it would be fully empty. however, if you started with an empty glass and poured liquid from another container into the glass up to the halfway line, the glass is half full because if you continued pouring it would be all the way full. logical, no?
i was 13 years old when somebody finally told me it was supposed to be some kind of optimism/pessimism thing. i always thought it was a riddle that nobody let me solve
